Our Story

From a cramped apartment to your wardrobe. Same state of mind, different zip code.

Where It Started

In 2019, two friends with a screen printer and zero budget started making tees for their crew. The designs pulled from transit signage, bodega receipts, and the feeling of walking home at 2 AM through streets that somehow felt both dangerous and safe.

Word spread through group chats and local pop-ups. By 2021, we had outgrown the apartment and moved into a small studio space. The ethos never changed: make clothes that feel like the city sounds.

What We Stand For

Every piece is produced in small batches. We work with local cut-and-sew factories that pay fair wages and let us obsess over details like stitch density and garment weight.

We do not chase trends. Each collection is a response to what we see and hear in our neighborhoods. If it resonates, it sells out. If it does not, we learn and move forward. No clearance racks, no overproduction.

The Name

"Same State" is not about geography. It is about carrying the same hunger, the same awareness, the same refusal to settle regardless of how far you travel from where you started. Your state of mind is your real address.
